Its been a busy start to the year so far at The Shoebox Fairies HQ. Like all third sector services we are seeing an increase in the number of our referrals due to the cost of living crisis. Unfortunately during this time services like ours become increasingly stretched and we are always appreciative of the generous donations of time, goods and monies that we receive.
Since the new year we have aimed to increase the number of corporate volunteering opportunities avaialable due to the number of requests we received over the Christmas period. We were very grateful to be joined by Linsday and her team from Wigan Council in March. Please keep your eyes on our social media for further opportunities over the summer period.

We are always looking to expand our Shoebox Fairy family - if you have a couple of hours going spare here and there then please get in touch. We aim to tailor our opportunities to your availability and interests. If there is a skill you have been meaning to develop further then we might be a great place to put it practice!
This Easter we were able to support our local Startwell with a donation of goodies.

We love networking with other local charities and community groups. If you feel that your service users would benefit from our appeals or would like to find out more about working together then please drop us an email at theshoeboxfairies@hotmail.com

Behind the scenes we are busy organising more fundraising events and you may have seen a Save the Date for our "Hot Pot and Horses" event scheduled in September. We can't wait to tell you more about it and ways that you can get involved. Our Shoebox Fairies Ball in June seems a long while ago now and we are "chomping at the bit" for our next fundraiser!

Quick thought, people often wait for perfect information before acting, which is kind of unrealistic in many situations, anyway small consistent awareness helps more than expected, check ipo is something I’ve been casually following, seems simple but useful, not always exact though often enough to guide attention, plus it keeps things manageable instead of overwhelming, which honestly makes it easier to stay consistent over time without losing interest
This post captures the energy and dedication behind the initiatives at Shoebox Fairies HQ. It’s inspiring to see how thoughtful planning turns compassion into action, especially for children in need. The storytelling makes the mission feel personal and impactful. Efforts like these deserve a fairdeal 7 of appreciation because they genuinely uplift communities. The team’s commitment reflects how small actions, when organized well, can create meaningful change and bring hope to those who need it most.
Community feedback is vital for the growth of any project. Your apbook allows you to post in the forums where the developers actually listen. It seems to be a very proactive team behind the scenes. Not always, though often, these tech companies ignore their users. Anyway, I’m glad to see this one is different. Plus, it makes easier the process of suggesting new features. That said, the response times are actually quite fast. It really helps the users.
Tracking your personal stats shouldn't be this difficult at all. Just use the vlbook com to access the backend where the real numbers live. It seems to be a common mistake to look at the public dashboard instead, which is usually delayed anyway. Probably just a server sync issue, or something similar. Most people skip over the advanced filters because they look intimidating, which is kind of strange. Anyway, the data is much cleaner once you actually get inside the system today.
It’s both inspiring and a bit sobering to read how organisations like this are handling the growing pressure during the cost of living crisis. The dedication to supporting people despite limited resources really stands out. Community-driven efforts like yours make a real difference where it’s needed most, and the transparency about challenges helps build trust too. I think more awareness around such initiatives is essential right now. Also, platforms like skyexchange art vip are helping bring more visibility to creative and charitable spaces, which can indirectly support causes like this. Keep up the meaningful work—it truly matters.
