It has been a gruelling 16 months for many of us -whether furloughed, working from home, working on the frontline or shielding. The Covid pandemic has meant that time has stood still for many of us and has caused delays in many facets of our lives. The pandemic has also hit the third sector and consequently has meant that our big plans for The Shoebox Fairies in 2021 have had to be tweaked at times.
It gives us great pleasure to announce that, although a little later than expected, we have been able to begin issuing Mother & Baby boxes to vulnerable families in the Wigan Borough. These boxes are put together using items which have been generously donated from various Mother and Baby groups across the Wigan borough. We have been truly touched by the kindness
we have encountered. Each
of our boxes is thoughtfully put together by our volunteers and includes the following:
* Knitted blanket
* Maternity Pads (1 pack)
* Newborn Nappies (x6)
* Nursing Pad (x10)
* Baby Wipes
* Baby Wash
* Baby Talc
* Baby Oil
* Baby Sponge
* Nappy Cream
* Bibs
* Soothers/dummies
* Deodorant for mum
* Face mask for mum
* Knitted cardigan
* Newborn Hat
* Newborn vests (x2)
* Comforter
Our boxes are presented like a gift with tissue paper and stickered with our Shoebox Fairies logo.
